Practicalities:Is it confidential?
Our counselling sessions will be conducted in accordance with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy’s (BACP) Ethical Frameworks for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy. The frameworks are designed to ensure the safety and wellbeing of both client and counsellor. A core component of the frameworks is confidentiality. What you tell me is between you and me. Where will sessions be held? Our first meeting would be based in my mobile office for an initial assessment. Subsequent sessions will be entirely outdoors in the rugged beauty of West Cornwall, walking paths that we will choose to suit your level of fitness; depending on what's needed we can go on a gentle stroll, a longer hike, or simply sit. We can discuss where we'll walk at the first meeting, whether it be on the beach, in the woods, along the coastal path, these walks will be chosen according to your preference as well as weather conditions at the time. I am committed to holding every session outdoors, no matter what the weather - assuming that's what you want - however, there will always be an indoor option when weather is particularly inclement....this will either be in my campervan at a pre-chosen spot, or in a therapy room with country or garden views. What do you need to wear? You will need outdoor footwear and clothing appropriate to weather conditions and the chosen walk; for example waterproofs, layers, scarf, hat & gloves when it's cold & wet, a sunhat or sunscreen when warm & sunny. How long will you need? At our first meeting we will decide how many sessions might be needed. Often the initial contract is for 6 sessions, but this is negotiable, and you may well want or need more....and occasionally it's less. Sessions are usually booked weekly and for 1 hour or 1.5 hours. Prices:The cost of a session is from £45-£50 for 1 hour, and from £60-£65 for 1.5 hours (depending on travel).
